Thirty years, & in some ways it feels like 30 days. I don't feel like I'm any different from who I was back in 73, although the mirror tells a different story, as I'm sure it does for all of us. The story my mirror tells is of a life probably not much different from anyone else's: marriage (just 1), kids (only 6), gray hair (a few), pounds (more than a few, but what the heck), career (several of those, too).
But I have learned a few very important lessons that I didn't have completely figured out when I was 17; God is good, life is too short to be in too much of a hurry, & never cry over something that won't cry over you. I had wonderful experiences at CHS, & some tough ones, too- & each one helped shape and prepare me for life ahead, where I've had wonderful experiences, & some tough ones too! Two of our children have graduated from Coronado, & 2 currently attend there (with 2 more headed there), so I see the campus often & I am struck by the evident wear and tear. The old alma mater is a bit shabby these days, both in look and in programs, & I hope more alumni will get involved to help restore CHS and rebuild its reputation for quality to what it was when we attended. Best wishes to all my old classmates for another 30 years of life well lived.
