It's been a long time since the Supai days, and I don't remember much, but I can remember Debbie always had a smile on her face. I am sorry her passing, and know she is in a much beter place. Tom Scheurn

Same here...Deb would email every so often,
and tell me a few memories of Supai, about her family but never said anything about being ill. I was pretty stunned when I saw the opening page here.
I'll share a post Debbie made at one of my Wallace & Ladmo fansites. This one was in response to a thread I made dated: March 2nd,2005. This was the day when Ladmo passed away in 1994. Before I post her words..I'll place these words:
"BOOKENDS"
by Simon & Garfunkel
Time it was, and what a time it was,
it was A time of innocence, a time of confidences..
Long ago, it must be, I have a photograph
Preserve your memories, they're all that's left you...

LADMO
There is one event in my life where Ladmo meant everything to me. I
had just returned from St.Josephs Hospital where my mother had
passed away.We had been called to the hospital so quickly that in
our rush to be with my mother in her final moments,we had forgotten
to turn off the television set.
Upon returning, in our moment of grief, there was Ladmo doing one of
his sketches with Grudgemeyer. And for that moment in time I forgot
the pain,& laughed. For one moment in my life things were like they
were before I lost my mother,Ladmo making me & my mother laugh. From
that moment I learned laughter eases the pain.
Today we remember one of our heroes who has left us much to early to
go to better place. But the legacy he left us is more valuable than
gold. And he will always be sadly missed by all of his fans
Goodbye Our Beloved Ladmo
You Will Live Forever In Our Hearts!

Oh my gosh I am also in shock. Debbie also emailed me frequently never mentioning any illness just the pride of her husband and 7 children. I like Terri have known her since kindergarten.
Oh I remember all of us kids playing on the jungle jims teasing each other during recess at Supai Elementary School. Remember Tether Ball, and running during P.E. Those good ol' Supai days.

Oh my gosh...I am in such shock. Debbie just recently has been in contact with so many of us old friends...and has great pictures and info on her myspace pages...she was just so full of life.
I've known Debbie since kindergarten. I can actually remember the first day of school when I met her. Always such a sweet, kind, wonderful soul.
You will be missed, and I am glad to have been able to call you "friend."
:(
Love, Terri
