I remember Paula from my old neighborhood. She lived over on the next street
from me. She and I also went to Loloma Elementary together. I remember her as
just a quiet sweet girl who always blended into the background. She was a gentle
soul who would never harm anyone or anything. I first heard of her passing a few
years back when I was in Arizona to give my sister away at her wedding. Paula's
brother, Carl, is still good friends with my brother, Todd. And Carl's daughter
is friends with my niece, (Todd's daughter). I met Carl's daughter on the day I
lest to come back here to Chicago. When they told me who she was I just said,
"That means Paula's you're Aunt". Then they informed me of her passing. I
understand she left behind a husband and son, and that she lost a battle to
breast cancer. My sympathies to her family. My youngest sister is a survivor of
breast cancer as she was diagnosed with it a couple years after I heard about
Paula. I know the turmoil that's felt. May God rest her soul.
